Launched in 2024, Sousaphunk is a trio consisting of Jon Fohl (Drums,) Peter Heuer (Guitar,) and Kyle Yagielski (Sousaphone.) The group digs deep into the funk trio roots laid before them, and trailblazes new paths with exploratory jams. Sousaphunk is certain to get people moving & grooving, with a mix of original and cover music.

All three members of Sousaphunk love experimenting with new sound & looping FX that truly push the expectations of traditional funk trio.

Sousaphunk regularly operates as a trio, but is honored to work with some incredibly talented musicians as featured artists, such as Jacob Nicholson, Ellen Pieroni, Joe Bellanti, and many more.

Their first recorded material “sousaphunk live” was released in February of 2025, and is available on all major streaming services now.
